Thanks to everyone who attended the Local Election Debate tonight at the Lonny Wilsoncroft Community Centre. It was wonderful to hear from 4 of the 6 candidates that will be standing in the upcoming election. About 50 people attended the meeting chaired by Lisa Higginbottom, who did a fabulous job of making sure everyone got a chance to answer the questions put to them. It was fantastic to hear the opinions of all the candidates in a good humoured and friendly atmosphere. The NZCA will be holding their first Local Election Debate, on Monday 18th April 2016, at the Lonny Wilsoncroft Community Centre, Stepping Lane, Derby DE1 1GL. Doors will open at 6.30pm for a 7pm start. All candidates standing for the Mackworth Ward have been invited to attend. Each will be given 3 minutes to state their priorities for the Mackworth Ward, after which the time will be opened for questions from local residents. Come along and meet the candidates, and ask the questions you want answers to, so that you can make an informed decision on May 5th.

Our next fundraising event will be on Saturday 23rd April 2016 at the Lonny Wilsoncroft Community Centre, Stepping Lane, Derby DE1 1GL, starting at 4pm and finishing at 7pm. 'A Right Royal Do', will be a party in honour of Queen Elizabeth II 90th birthday, and it coincidentally falls on St Georges Day too. We will be having afternoon tea, and celebrating everything English. Games for the children, including a fancy dress competition. Our first fundraiser of the year is approaching fast. Saturday 26th March on Handford St Park, 12-2pm our Easter Eggstravaganza. at 12.15 our Easter Egg hunt will start, this is free to all children to enter. The Easter Bunny will be coming to help. THere will be hot dogs and hamburgers on sale, a tombola stall, games and toys and books. So come along and enjoy a lovely family time this easter.
