Just to let you all know I have just put the New Zealand Community Times on line, but we will not be delivering this month due to the ongoing situation with the Covid 19 virus. Hello everyone, big thanks to those that came and helped with the clean up today. We cleared Stables St, Brough St, Peach St, How St and half of Stanley St on our hour long session and got 9 black bags of rubbish. Thank you to the local MP Amanda Solloway who also came along and helped and stayed around at the Community Centre to talk to residents afterwards.

Thanks to everyone who attended the Local Election Debate tonight at the Lonny Wilsoncroft Community Centre. It was wonderful to hear from 4 of the 6 candidates that will be standing in the upcoming election. About 50 people attended the meeting chaired by Lisa Higginbottom, who did a fabulous job of making sure everyone got a chance to answer the questions put to them. It was fantastic to hear the opinions of all the candidates in a good humoured and friendly atmosphere. The first annual Good Neighbour of the Year awards were held on Saturday 29th August, after the AGM, at the Lonny Wilsoncroft Community Centre, Stepping Lane, Derby. There were 3 categories that people could nominate their friends and neighbours for - 1st the most helpful/friendliest shop assistant - this was won by Annie and Jane of the Old Rd Cafe, who received alot of nominations from their customers who all think they are great, friendly and go out of their way to give that extra special service. 2nd the Good Neighbour of the Year - this was won by Brian Bradbury of Uttoxeter Old Rd, wh...

On Monday 29th September from 6.30pm there will be a Residents Meeting at the Lonny Wilsoncroft Community Centre, Stepping Lane, Derby. This meeting is for residents living in the New Zealand area. The New Zealand Community Association will be running the meeting and the local police team will be in attendance. If you wish to hear what is going on in your area, raise an issue that you feel is important, or just attend and be part of your community, come along and join us.
