Thanks to everyone who supported us by attending our annual Gala Day which took place on Cheviot Street Open Space. Well the weather was not brilliant but we still had crowds of people come down and take a look, many lined the road to watch the parade. Some of the groups didn\'t make it to the Parade due to the rain, but our \'special\' royal family showed the stiff upper lip and sailed through it all, including \'her Majesty\' who looked stunning in her lemon ensemble.
Calidoscopia provided the carnival music, and created a wonderful atmosphere. Followed by St Barnabas Rainbows and Brownies and Peppa Pig! Foot Fusion Dancers also joined us.
Derby Homes provided the climbing wall, which was well used by local children.
Refreshments were very popular and we had a steady flow of people throughout the afternoon. Unfortunately due to the weather conditions we didn\'t get to have a bingo game or the dog show. But we made the best of it.
Big thanks to committee members, Joanne, Tracey, Nathan, Jay, Lesley, Mu, and Fay, Josh, Melissa Cocker, Melissa Coons, all from St Barnabas, the local police team, Derby Homes, Councillor John Whitby, who dropped by and drew the raffle.
Thanks also to Calidoscopia Drummers and Foot Fusion Dance Group for their displays, the Fire Service, St Johns Church for the use of their Gazebo\'s, VP Station Hire (Granville Street) for the free use of the generator, local stores, Nanua\'s and Morley Stores for raffle prizes, Tesco\'s, Marks and Spencer, Debenhams, Derby County football team, and Costco for their contributions to the raffle.
Big Thanks to John Morgan for the loan of his lorry for the float.
And A Big Thank you to Olive and Doreen for their help with the Float!
