We have started a new project at the Lonny Wilsoncroft Community Centre called Pantry Support.
Pantry Support is there to help local families to access ambient and fresh food products each week, to aid them through the difficult winter months when energy bills are set to rise. We are working with the Food 4 Thought Alliance, the central food hub in Derby. This project has been funded by a grant from the Tom Carey Fund through Foundation Derbyshire.
Every Tuesday between 4.30 and 6.30pm and Wednesday 12 till 4pm members can come and pick up food to help them through the week.
If you would like to register to use Pantry Support, simply turn up on one of these days and we will take your details. You will need two forms of ID, one photographic (if possible) as proof of address, as this scheme is only available to those who live in the Mackworth Ward (thats Mackworth, Morley and New Zealand), and a few streets between Uttoxeter Old rd and Uttoxeter New Rd in the Abbey Ward.
So if you are finding things a bit difficult at this time, please come and see us, and we will see if we can help.
We do not currently have an appeal running
