A Resident asked a question at the last Residents meeting of the Councillors present, which was, 'Were the Council going to come and spray the weeds that are growing up in the gutters and at the base of alot of the houses in the terraced streets of the New Zealand area'. We were informed that the Council no longer provide this service.
You will probably all have seen the mess our streets are becoming because of this problem and so the NZCA along with our local MP Amanda Solloway will be having a clean up day - mostly pulling out these weeds on Thursday 25th August starting at 11am. We will meet at the Lonny Wilsoncroft Community Centre on Stepping Lane at just before 11 for a drink and then disperse to the different streets in the area. After we have finished you can return to the centre for a free Bacon or Sausage Cob and have the opportunity to meet your MP Amanda Solloway.
We hope we will get enough volunteers from amongst the residents to tidy up all of our streets and make New Zealand a pleasant place to live. So if you have an hour or two to spare on Thursday 25th please get in touch and let us know - 290458 or email contact@nzca.co.uk (Or use the online form) so that we know how many we are catering for and what areas we will be covering. We hope to can rely on your support and keep our streets looking clean and tidy.
