New Zealand Annual Gala Day

I would like to thank everyone that came along to Gala Day on Cheviot St Rec, we hope you enjoyed yourselves, we had lots of new attractions this year, which went down really well.

I have to thank our lovely volunteers, who worked so hard both before, during and after the event. Thanks to Peter Good, Cllr Adrian Pegg, Shania, Rosie, Shyler, Kia and Sarah, who all turned up on the day to run stalls for us.To Andy, Jude and Lynn who provided us with plants and Andys fantastic bug hotels for the children to assemble, which went down a treat. To Trudy also. Thanks to Alan Marley for again turning up first thing to help with the putting up of gazeboes.

Big, big thanks to our regular volunteers Doreen Pauline, Nick, Fay, Rose, Evelyn and her grand daughter Angel. To Ross who did all the fetching and carrying for two days straight!

And to our fantastic committee members, without whom Gala Day and so many other things we do, simply would not happen. There were lots of problems to be solved in the last couple of weeks before the big day and we managed to get them all sorted. So many many thanks to Lynn, Sue, and Mu who worked so hard on the day, to Jo who although taking a sabbatical, still helped out with advice, Nathan for preparing all the stuff for the charity shop,

Thanks to Bugs and Bones, and Jo jo and Co Parrot Rescue and the Events People who provided the face painting, badge making and caricature artist - thanks Fab, always professional and very talented - I would recommend them any time. Also to our dear friend, Coe-Coe the Clown who does such a wonderful job entertaining the Children.

A special mention to my kids, two of whom turned up to help on the day and did a lot of the donkey work for us older people. Conor and Melissa you were great!
