Thanks to everyone that came down to Cheviot St Rec for Gala Day. It was a great day once again. Big thanks to Derby County, Marks and Spencer, Hickory Dickorys, Morrisons, and the local Sainsburys on Morley St for providing us with raffle prizes. Also thanks to VP Hire on Granville St for providing the generator as always, free of charge, much appreciated.
Thanks to Kaleidoscope Drummers who came down to entertain us and let everyone have a go on their drums, you were brilliant! Also Coe-Coe the Clown who did a great job keeping the children entertained.
We had visits from the Mayor and Mayoress of Derby, Cllr John Whitby and his wife, and former Derby North MP Amanda Solloway, thank you for coming to support us.
Massive thanks to all our wonderful volunteers, those sequested for the day, Adrian Pegg, the Kiwi Craft ladies, Fay Bulek, Hazel Thomson and her husband (whose name escapes me at the minute, sorry), Peter,Conor who came to help set up and members of the congregation of St Barnabas who came down to help us set up, and as always the sterling team of volunteers who help out at all our events and activities - Jill , Lynn, Rose, Sue, Jayne, Nathan, Melissa, Mu, Fay, Pauline, Joanne(who was still sorting stuff out at 9pm last night, theres alot more goes on regarding Gala Day than the few hours on the park!), and last but not least Rob.You all did a sterling job and made the day the success it was.
