Movie Afternoon

During the half term holiday there will be a movie afternoon for children in the New Zealand area, free of charge, at the Lonny Wilsoncroft Community Centre, Stepping Lane. The movie will be a recently released DVD appropriate for primary school children. Doors open 1.30 for a 2pm start. This event, as the Sports Session, has been paid for by a grant from Comic Relief.

During the October half term, on Thursday 30th October between 2-4pm there will be a free sports session for children between the ages of 4-11years of age. There are limited spaces available so if you would like your child to take part please contact us via the website or telephone 290458 to book a place for your child. This event has been paid for by a grant from Comic Relief. The first session will be one hour of football and one hour of mini tennis. Its Old Movie Time

Every Friday between 12.30-3.30pm at the Lonny Wilsoncroft CommunityCentre, Stepping Lane, black and white british films. Come and enjoy the film on the big screen, free entry. Refreshments on sale at half time.

New Zealand Residents Meeting

On Monday 29th September from 6.30pm there will be a Residents Meeting at the Lonny Wilsoncroft Community Centre, Stepping Lane, Derby. This meeting is for residents living in the New Zealand area. The New Zealand Community Association will be running the meeting and the local police team will be in attendance. If you wish to hear what is going on in your area, raise an issue that you feel is important, or just attend and be part of your community, come along and join us.

Decorate a Christmas WIndow

The New Zealand Community Association is celebrating Christmas in a big way this year. For the first time the Community Centre will be lit up inside and out for the festive season. We are hoping to hold an event on Handford St Park, and to coincide with that, we are launching our Decorate a Christmas Window Competition. We have chosen the theme of the song The 12 days of Christmas. So you could pick one of the 12 days or do all of them. Its up to you.
