Thanks to all who attended the Glam Nite last night. We were thoroughly entertained by the Moonhare Tribal Dance group. A big thank you to Jo from Inner Peace Aromatherapy who provided the pampering bit of the evening. As always grateful thanks to our wonderful volunteers, Sue and Lynn for getting all of our wonderful fashion items ready; Mu for all the baking and making of lovely desserts; Fay for setting up; and Paul for running the bar and giving our ladies the night off! It really was a fantastic experience!

There will be a meeting at the Lonny Wilsoncroft Community Centre Stepping Lane, Derby DE1 1GL regarding the traffic calming measures which have been proposed for the area. If you would like to look at the proposed plans and ask any questions this is your chance. The meeting will be held on Tuesday 21st August from 5.30pm until 7pm. So make sure you come along if you want to have your say and input.

We will be starting our weekly trips to the Meteor Centre for shopping from Monday 6th August at 10am. There are limited spaces available, so if you would like to book a seat please get in touch. We will collect you from your home and drop you off at home afterwards. We have chosen the Meteor Centre because they have shops there which we do not have in our neighbourhood, such as Morrisons and Aldi. We will be asking for a small donation to cover the cost of petrol for the trip.

As most of us know, there has been a couple of major changes within the council these past few months. We have a new Mayor, Councillor Mike Carr from the Liberal Democrat party and the Conservatives are now leading the council. With these changes, leaders believed it to be a good idea to go out and connect with the public. All parties were invited to attend a residents meeting at the Lonny Wilsoncroft community centre, located in the New Zealand area.
